technology items

technology items

well heres the last few items i made..
which arent amazing but im glad i gave it a go,
quite enjoyed getting messy for a change :)

ok this was supposed to be a chip but i ran out of materials.....

this one was supposed to be a credit card, its not amazing but i did enjoy the spray paint :P

and this has got to be the worst, i thought using broken glass would be a good idea for the screen and newspaper for the cover but it really didn't work, just kinda looked like someone stood on it...
so i have to say that this was pretty unsuccesful, but i was proud of the ipod,
it was still an enjoyable project too, nice to have a break from computers
(except for the blog of course)

recycling and artwhilst crusi

Recycling and art
whilst cruising the internet for recycling facts and information, i came across some images
of mass rubbish and recycling, like the one below, and i got to thinking of art,
so i began gathering some images of recycled art.

Although these are very difficult and many of us wont exactly be able to make them
ourselves, i got thinking about how maybe companies could use this method to
produce contemporary products, that way saving money on new packaging and
parts, and producing a new, greener product, which i wouldt think may be
quite appealing, after thinking of this, i decided to try making something myself,
so i chose an ipod, mainly because its a simple shape, and i wanted to make a cover
that was the complete opposite style to their own.
by using string, beads, old music sheets and card, i made a small mock up
of a recycled ipod, which actually didnt look to bad either...
actually after showing to a few people, a number of them thought it was real for a moment,
and all of them said that they would purchase an ipod if it had that cover because it was unique and a good idea too.
anyway im gonna try make more items like this to see how they work, and hopefully get the same responses off people :)

Bradford

Bradford
on our trip to bradford, we  all had tasks to invent games using photography, then complete
them in groups, our was to take a picture of an item that began with each letter
in the word B-R-A-D-F-O-R-D, heres what we got, but unfortunately some of my pictures disapeared so theres
a few missing, but i made replacements except for one....

B- bar
R- red car
A- air

missing one :(

F- fish and chips
O- orange
R- road
D- drink
well there was some of the rubbish images i managed to get for the game...
but the technology museum was pretty cool :)
i really liked the photography area, shame i didnt get to spend much time there
though, or play with the cameras..

i also found some childhood friends :P
katy got on the news...
i got lost in some weird world...

so overall i thought it was pretty good and i think i might try go again some day

leeds art gallery

Leeds art gallery
i wen to leeds gallery for the first time the other day and although found alot of it to be a bit predictive,
there was some work i really liked, so i thought id put some on here to show, you should definetely go see them
:)

this was a huge battle image from the 'third battle of ypres'
and i really thought it was brilliant, its size really brought it alive

Trevor bell
This was one of my favourite artists there, and his work was so eye catching
and even breath taking, so colourful and 3D too :P

Fiona Rae
here was another artist i really liked, her work was so
free and colourful, and i really liked the style.

Lizzie coombes
and this was one of my favourite, pieces, 3 large walles covered in a collage of  very good quality
pictures, which began as a community project to photograph beauty in leeds,
and gave some really good results ...

so if anyone hasnt been to this gallery yet, i recommend it, it's got some great modern work,
and a great kiddy area with comfy chairs and colouring pencils :P
